Illustration showing Lee's Intent on how he wanted to assault the Union line and capture Cemetery Hill.  His plan called for a highly concerted effort among his division commanders to hit the Union line starting with Hood's division against the Union left followed by McLaws then Anderson then Pender with a demonstration against Culps Hill by Johnson (which could develop into an outright assult depending on the circumstances) finally leading up to the assault and dislodgement of Union forces on Cemetery Hill.  (Cemetery Hill attack preceded with a 45 minute artillery barrage against that objective point.)
